Traditional Hand Made Farmhouse Cloth Bound Cheddar Cheese

Miniature truckles are traditionally bound in cheesecloth and matured for 9 to 12 months.

Description

Ideal for all social gatherings from weddings to Christmas, these rustic miniature truckles make the perfect centrepiece for any cheeseboard. Like all of our Traditional Cheddar range, these mini truckles are wrapped in cheesecloth to mature naturally. Usually made at the start of the year, they are just reaching their prime by mid-November. Sold still wrapped in cloth so you can enjoy the excitement of unwrapping to reveal to treasure inside. A surefire talking point at any dinner party.

The truckles are sold with a 200g leeway, in that a 1kg truckle may be anywhere from 800g to 1kg and a 2kg truckle will be between 1.8kg and 2kg.

When you purchase them they will be vacuum sealed.  To mould them up to have a more authentic-looking truckle, put them in a cool room and watch the mould form on the cloth.  Wipe them down once a week.  Alternatively, you can leave them as they are!
